CPT Mike O'Rear - Commander O'Rear joined the Georgia State Defense Force on January 15, 2006. He was selected for OCS in 2007, and attended from January thru June 2008 successfully completing the program. O'Rear graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 1969 with an Associate of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, University of Memphis in 1972 with a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, University of Memphis in 1975 with a MS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, and the Georgia State University in 1995 with a PhD in Human Resource Development. |

- S-1 SGT Pilgrim - Personnel & Administration
The S-1 is the principal staff member for the commander in matters concerning personnel. He or she is concerned with personnel strength, job qualifications, and management of unit human resources to ensure a high degree of personal readiness. He or she also responsible for morale, recruiting, unit cohesion, safety and accident prevention plans, orders, promotions, rewards, and monitors the provisions of health, chaplain, and legal services.- S-2 SGT Rock - Intelligence
S-3 Vacant - Training, Plans & Operations
- The S-3 shop is the principal staff officer for the commander in matters concerning security, operations, plans, organization (force structure) and training. He or she has primary responsibility for maintaining liaison and coordinating plans and operations with supported and supporting elements and agencies. He or she also develops, coordinates, implements and monitors individual and unit training programs including determining training requirements and resources, preparing training programs, directives and orders, planning and conducting training inspections. Most importantly s/he conducts intelligence and security consistent with mission requirements.

S-4 - Supply & Logistics
The S-4 is the principal staff member for the commander in matters of
supply, maintenance, transportation, and services. Specifically, the S-4
determines supply requirements; requests, acquires, allocates, and distributes
supplies. The S-4 also accounts for all state property assigned to the
unit, and ensures that it is properly stored and secured. S-4 monitors
the status of equipment, and arranges for necessary maintenance, as well
as plans for and coordinates transportation services for both personnel
and equipment to support training and operations. Finally, the S-4 staff
position also monitors the expenditures of funds allocated to the unit.-
